Stats!: Half Case Collation

Here we are, another week down and time for a statistics based post. I am almost done opening the entire case and have more than attained my goal of building a master set so I am slowing down on the actual pack ripping to savor the last few boxes.

Today, I thought I'd check on the collation for the first half of the case, or ten boxes. Each box has 36 packs, each pack has seven cards, one of which should be an insert. Here are the stated pack odds, what I should have gotten and what I actually got for the first ten boxes:

Let's start with the total, 425 inserts pulled. One guaranteed per pack would yield only 360 so I did very well there. A second insert was pulled in slightly over every fifth pack.

Mascots is a 25 card set. I pulled four of each one and a fifth on five of them.

Teams Traditions & Celebrations is a 15 card set. I pulled seven of all of them and an eighth of one.

Before Opening Day is a 20 card set. I pulled four of all of them and a fifth on five of them.

Opening Day is a 20 card set. I pulled three of all of them a fourth on four of them.

These 80 insert cards make up what I would consider a Master Set, along with the 200 card base set.

Each of the first 10 boxes yielded a complete base set. Although, spoiler alert, that hasn't been the case with the second half.

As for the other inserts, I have hit my Base Photo Variation, OD Relic, National Anthem and Stadium Signatures (not an autograph) expectations so any more in the second half will be a bonus. I also hit a Dugout Peeks which is about a 1:5 case hit.

The Opening Days Stars is too big of a set to complete with just one case. With good collation, maybe two. Depending on how these look on the secondary market, I may try to complete the set.

I have not pulled any autographs yet but I should get one eventually. I am also short on the MLB Sticker Colection Stars. This is only a four "card" set, should end up with 2.5, but have been shutout so far. I checked on eBay and these are cheap for how tough they are to pull.

In conclusion, I have been able to put together three master sets. If collation stays true, I'll end up with six, plus a bunch of other complete base sets and a few extra complete insert sets.
