Something I learned because of this card: Geography was not really my strong suit so I was a little confused that the back of the baseball card said Albies was born in Netherlands Antilles but in other places it was referenced as Curacao. After a little research (and I mean just a little), it appears Netherlands Antilles refers to a group of island territories that was dissolved in 2010. Curacao was one of the islands that became its own country with the dissolution. So technically, he was born in the Netherlands Antilles, which is now Curacao.
Albies is one of two players born in 1997 to have made their MLB debut. The other, Victor Robles of the Washington Nationals, also appears in this set.
As a rookie card, this is the first appearance for Albies in Opening Day. He was however, in Series 1 and the Factory Team set with the same photo.
Cubs Ties?: None?
